Be Yourself, You're Awesome Just as You Are!

Hey there, amazing tweens! Let's have a girl chat about something really important – being true to ourselves. Have you ever felt like you needed to change who you are just to fit in with a friend group? It's what I like to call the "seeking thumbs up syndrome," and let me tell you, it's not the way to go. It can mess with how confident and happy you feel about yourself. You see, when we pretend to be someone else, we miss out on embracing what makes us truly special. And guess what? It's so not worth it!

But, like, why do we do this to ourselves? Well, we all want our friends to like us. It’s totally normal to want to be accepted and liked! Plus, we also feel pressure from what we see on social media and in magazines. These messages can make us think that we're not good enough if we don’t look or act a certain way. And to add to all that, when we're trying to figure out who we are at this age, it's easy to think we need to be like everyone else to be liked.

But, hey, here's the scoop – instead of trying so hard to fit in, it's awesome to just be yourself. Celebrate what makes you unique! And when you do that, you'll feel confident and happy, and you won't need other people to tell you how incredible you are.

Now, let's talk about why it's not a good idea to seek approval from others. If you're not being yourself just to fit in, it’s gonna have some consequences. You'll start feeling like you're not good enough just being yourself, when in reality, you're super awesome just as you are! It's like wearing a Halloween mask all the time, and that's not okay. Trust me, it's not worth it. So listen up, my friends: just be yourself, because you're already more than enough exactly as you are!

Remember, girl, you're super amazing just being you! Don't let seeking thumbs-up syndrome mess with how happy and confident you feel about yourself. Embrace all the things that make you special and rock being the fabulous you! Because the most real version of you is the BEST version!
